sTARTUp Lab Teams Won Special Awards at Ajujaht
University of Tartu sTARTUp Lab teams CommuniCare and A Story won several awards at “Ajujaht”, the biggest business ideas competition in Estonia.
The best social entrepreneurship award (5000 euros) was given to the University of Tartu School of Economics and Business Administration students’ team CommuniCare. In addition, CommuniCare won a special award from the city of Tartu (5000 euros) and from Saue Parish (4000 euros). In total, they won 14,000 euros for further business development. The team began working on their idea in the sTARTUp Lab STARTERtartu programme in autumn 2019. Ajujaht noticed CommuniCare's idea at STARTERtartu mentoring event and gave them direct access to TOP 100. Among many other awards, CommuniCare has won the title of the best STARTER team, tickets to the prestigious business festival Arctic15 and they have also won Tartu City Government's financial award at the business ideas competition Kaleidoskoop.
Team A Story, won the special award of Tartu Centre for Creative Industries, which is incubation package worth 3000 euros. A Story is developing an application that helps children learn storytelling skills. The idea of A Story started in the spring of 2019 by participating in the STARTERtartu programme, where they won an invitation to the EXEX Educational Technology Conference.

Starter pre-incubation programme teams gained new motivation from mentors for idea development
One of the key events in the StarterTartu programme is the Mentor Feedback Carousel, where teams meet mentors from various fields to receive crucial feedback on their ideas. This year, the event took place on October 5th at Spark HUB, the center of the startup and technology community, bringing together 11 mentors and 22 teams, with a total of 100 students benefiting from the mentors' valuable insights.
